a design for a drum - the idea is like a "talking drum," which is hourglass shaped with the two heads connected to each other with cris-crossing cords - you hold it under your arm and squeeze the cords in the middle, tightening and loosening the heads, and thus raising or lowering the pitch while you play.

my idea is basically a scaled up version that would allow the player to pitch the drum with a foot-pedal - this way they could play standing up using both hands. it seemed like a good idea.

i actually built this - and it looked awesome. it would've probably worked too if i had put the head on correctly, but i didn't, so it didn't. it's in my mom's attic.
